Why You Should Live Stream Your Event

May 13, 2020 by Kat Hall Leave a Comment

Video content is key to branding your business. It tells a story and gives your audience a better sense of who you are.

Photo and video content add depth to a business concept, bringing a face to a name and making your business more memorable.

Live streaming brings that concept to life.

Reasons To Live Stream

INSTANT

When live streaming, your video is instant, so anything happening on camera is happening in real time.
This makes the content of the video authentic and adds an element of realness.
The editing and sound are happening live, so any mistakes or actions are reflected in the video, similar to a real life event. This can make your business more legitimate and personal.

INTIMATE

Your audience is essentially taking part in the event as if it were being held in person.
This makes an intimate setting for people all over the world to connect virtually and take part in the event live (during quarantine especially). Human interaction is essential, and live streaming gets people as close as possible digitally.

INCREASES ENGAGEMENT

Live Streaming allows viewers to interact in real-time with the event taking place.
Viewers can ask the host questions and have them answered immediately.
With platforms like Facebook and Vimeo, the host can create a poll for viewers to vote on during the stream.
This personal experience gives your audience incentive to tune in, increasing your views and engagement.

Why you should work with Studio 637

Our video and live stream expert, Cole Hockenbury, answered a few questions about streaming to provide more insight on the subject.

I asked Cole why businesses and artists should stream with us instead of streaming on their own.

Streaming with the studio not only gets you an increased production value, but you also get the years of experience and knowledge that we have.”

-Cole Hockenbury

Our crew at Studio 637 is able to efficiently execute live streams on location or in our studio.

We operate Black Magic Design cameras along with top-of-the-line technology. Cole is able to apply branded graphics on the broadcast while editing shots from each camera as it’s being streamed. Our sound engineer, Alex Lockwood, is able to mix audio on the spot. We also have remote location abilities, allowing us to be able to feed worldwide camera sources into our live stream rigs.

These elements leave our clients with a fully edited video with professionally recorded audio on the day it was filmed. No waiting for a finalized product. Your high quality video can be viewed live by your audience, where they can interact with you and share with their friends immediately. If any of your viewers missed the stream, no worries! Your video can be posted to watch later.

You don’t need to stress about purchasing expensive equipment and learning how to operate it to make a great live stream. At Studio 637, we have a green screen, a white background wall, and wood backdrops to choose from. We have all the equipment and technology necessary to produce a high-quality video or live stream on the spot. Leave it to us to make your vision a reality.

Tips for your stream

If you are planning on doing a simple stream from home, here are some helpful tips from Cole on how to fix any bugs.

If buffering occurs, try lowering the resolution of your stream from 1080p to 720p.

Another option would be to use an ethernet cable when streaming and not to use wifi.

Remember to make sure your lighting and sound is working and appropriate before going live!
